Go to:
Dia Beacon
Blockbuster art in a big beautiful space. Dia is awesome, definitely one of the top art destinations in the New York area. The monumental Richard Sera pieces are our favorite, but there are tons (literally) of large scale pieces from Sol Lewitt, Louise Bourgeois, Warhol, Dan Flavin and many more. 3 Beekman Street
Madam Brett Park
Oggle the waterfall. Look at, but don’t enter, the abandoned hat factory ruins. Take in the gorgeous views of Fishkill Creek Marsh. This urban park is our favorite place in town to take a stroll. South Ave
Hudson Beach Glass
Blow your own at Beacon’s hottest glory hole. The glass-blowing studio offers 20 min - 1 hr classes where you can blow your own glass ornament, bowl, pumpkin, or paperweight. We make holiday ornaments here every year with our family. 162 Main Street
Dan Flavin at Dia Beacon, and the abandoned hat factory at Madam Brett Park
Eat at:
Momo Valley
Spice up your life. Excellent Himalayan food. We love the momos, the Everest platter, and the super spicy chicken chili plate. Half the menu is vegan if that’s your thing. BYOB. 455 Main St.
Zaitun
Put it on a pita. Authentic Palestinian mezze, plates, and wraps. We go for the Addas (lentil soup), the Mujadarra, and the shawarma platters. The spice infused arabic coffee is delicious and nicely caffeinated. 244 Main St.
Melzingah Tap House
Tap, tap, tap in. The vibe is lively and the food is tasty at this eclectic gastro-pub. We usually go for the shrimp scampi and the ingredient packed salads. We don’t really care about beer, but it’s definitely a thing there if you do. Good wines too. 554 Main St.
Brother’s Trattoria
White table cloths and red sauce. A Beacon institution, serving classic Italian since 1998. They have all the pastas, pizzas and parms. Plus, great seafood. 465 Main St.
Hakan Chocolatier
Chocolate fantasy! Right across the street from our store are the most delicious and visually dazzling chocolates. The chocolate matcha stick thing is our favorite. Plus they make superb espresso-based coffees and hot cocoas. 462 Main St.
Oat Milk Chai and The Everest Platter at Momo Valley and Venus performing at The Roosevelt Bar
Stay Late for:
Wonder Bar
Cold hard cocktails. They have a list of signature drinks and also do a great job with the classics when we just want a really good manhattan or martini. 449 Main St
Quinn’s
Nosh into the night. Dimly lit sake bar, serving Japanese comfort food in a vintage diner setting – ramen, kara age, takoyaki, loaded hot dogs, etc. This is where we usually eat and pre-game before the drag show. 330 Main St
Drag at the Roosevelt Bar
Experience Hudson Valley drag. Andromeda, our queen in residence, hosts an outstanding weekly drag show on Friday nights with her roster of regulars as well as guest performers from around the valley. . . and the world. 288 Main St
